DUI Charge Reduced to Reckless Driving in Clayton County GA

Client was stopped for speeding in the North Georgia city of Clayton. The police officer believed the client was driving his vehicle under the influence of marijuana. The client took several field sobriety tests.
These tests included:
- the horizontal gaze nystagmus test
- the walk and turn test,
- the one leg stand test
- the Rhomberg balance test and
- the lack of convergence test.
The officer determined he was under the influence of marijuana and a less safe driver. The client was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana.
Attorney Blevins was able to look at the case and show the City that he did well on field sobriety tests. The DUI charge was then reduced to a reckless driving.

Attorney Richard Blevins is a former Cobb County Assistant District Attorney and Assistant Solicitor General. He is a part-time criminal justice instructor at Chattahoochee Technical College in Marietta, Georgia.
