DUI Reduced to Reckless Driving in Cobb County

Client was stopped for speeding in Cobb County. The police officer approached her car and smelled the odor of marijuana. The client admitted she has smoked marijuana previously. The officer suspected her of driving under the influence of marijuana. The client did the field sobriety tests which included the walk and turn; horizontal gaze nystagmus test; one leg stand test; modified Romberg balance test; and the lack of convergence. The officer said she failed the tests and arrested her. The client took a blood test and tested positive for marijuana.
Attorney Richard Blevins was able to get the DUI reduced to a reckless driving.

Attorney Richard Blevins is a former Cobb County Assistant District Attorney and Assistant Solicitor General. He is a part-time criminal justice instructor at Chattahoochee Technical College in Marietta, Georgia.
He graduated third in his class at the DeKalb County Police Academy and achieved an intermediate certification from Georgia’s Peace Officer Standards & Training Council.
