In addition to her legal practice, Soo made history as the first Korean-American woman elected to the Georgia House of Representatives following her election in 2022 and serves as a State Representative in Georgia House District 103. At the Capitol, she serves on the Judiciary Committee, the Ways & Means Committee, and actively sponsors legislation that improves access to justice, supports families, and enhances public safety across the state.
Soo prides herself in being able to provide strong personal relationships to her clients. She understands the importance of the tough issues and decisions that her clients are facing and is available for her clients through each step. She finds that the most important aspect of her role as an attorney is to always be available to answer any questions or concerns of her clients. Because of this personal attention, many of her former clients and their families have become close friends with her throughout her representation.
Soo was given the prestigious Ross Adams Younger Lawyer Award in 2015 by the Cobb County Bar Association for her dedication to the legal community. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyer since 2017, an honor given to only 5% of attorneys in the state. In 2023, she was elected President of the Cobb County Bar Association, where she previously served as Young Lawyers Division (YLD) President, Membership Chair, and a member of the Board of Trustees. Additionally, Soo regularly volunteers with Legal Aid to provide pro bono assistance to clients in civil and criminal cases.
In 2021, Soo was appointed by Governor Brian Kemp to the Judicial Nominating Commission, where she plays a vital role in evaluating and recommending candidates for judicial appointments throughout Georgia.
Soo also serves as an instructor at Chattahoochee Technical College. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Soo grew up in East Cobb (Marietta), Georgia, and is fluent in Korean. She now resides in North Gwinnett County and is grateful that she is able to help the Korean community in Georgia. Her journey from a young immigrant to a respected attorney and legislator reflects her unwavering dedication, resilience, and deep roots in the community she serves.
