LITHIA SPRINGS, GEORGIA

Lithia Springs is an unincorporated area located in northeastern area of Douglas County. Formerly, an incorporated city, Lithia Springs has a total population of approximately 15,000. The area earns its name from its historic Lithia water Springs. Lithia Springs was incorporated for the first time in 1882 until it was dissolved in 1933, and then again in 1994, only to be the second completely internal metropolis in Douglas County. In 2001, the citizens voted an 80% to 20% ratio to dissolve the city charter and transfer all municipal assets to the county. Citizens had believed that the city did not deliver enough services to justify existence under city law. Currently, Lithia Springs is home to Sweetwater Creek State Park and the main source for the bottle water brand LITHIA, sourced from Lithia Springs, Georgia since 1888.

Lithia Springs is just 24 miles outside of the state capitol of Atlanta and less than 15 miles from major city Marietta. The community is former home to Walton Goggins, series regular on FX’s Justified and NFL star Calvin Pace, who played the position of linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals and the New York Jets.
